Activities

Streamlining the activities on the above mandates and thrust areas of the district, the KVK has given special emphasis on the following themes.

Farm advisory services through vocational trainings in agriculture and allied enterprises for farmers, farm women, rural youths and extension functionaries.

Technology assessment, refinement, application and diffusion on farmers' field.

On farm testing in Crop Production, Horticulture, Home Science, Livestock Production, Post harvest processing and fish farming.

Frontline demonstrations in major cereals, oilseeds, pulses and other enterprises related to agriculture.

In service training to field level extension, officials of state development department, keeping in view the work experience, local conditions and resources.

Getting first hand scientific feed back from the field and passing them on to research system.

Serve as single window service for providing need-based knowledge, diagnostic services and inputs, products including seeds and planting materials.

Initially the off campus training are given emphasis due to unavailability of infrastructure. However, proposals have been submitted to council to set up training-cum-demonstration unit of the KVK.

Seed production of new variety seed for farmers of the District.
